Summer Bulk Up
Hey everyone. I've been teeny for a long while, and although ive gone through heavier periods during my early teen years (can you say puberty?) I've never really gotten the "junk" in the trunk or womanly curves. Infact, I pretty much look like a ruler. Sure, i am short and petite, cant do much about that, but i do want to gain a little "meat" to improve my fitness and health and no look like a lanky bean pole. You may indeed be familiar with my review site "nutritious junk" and i will of course continue to do health food reviews, but i thouhgt i'd keep up this blog for the summer chronicaling my weight gain efforts, progress, high and low points. As an avid runner, i realize i am going to start changing my fitness regime as well. I love running and loathe weight lifting, but alas i need to cut back on what i love and start doing more weigh training if i really want to reach my goals. I will be meeting with a nutritionist very often and i will probably have several meals with her. Hopefully she'll provide me the help and support i need to gain weight in a healthy way (cause lets face it, give me a box of krispy kremes and some milkshakes like Renee Zellweger did when gaining weight for bridget jones and i probably will put on weight, but i do want to do this healthfully). I will probably have several meals out WITH my nutrtionist where she'll help me create balance, healthy meals outside the house. I'll post about those meetings as well. This is very different from nutritious junk which is strictly food reviews, this is way more personal, so i would appreciate it if the comments are not negative and ill-intentioned. I know its time i finally do this once and for all and become a little thicker waif.

hey hun, this is Elyse from shapeshift.
I have bulked a whopping 3 kg ( 6lbs) by working out and eating well.
The key is indeed some weight lifting, but cardio too as long as you make sure you get in some dextrose and tons of protein after your work out.
Eat 4 grams of carbs for every gram of protein and don't forget to start drinking Whey shakes.
They worked for me.
I was only 38kg at 5,4" so that is extremely thinnnnn. Now I'm starting to look loads better.
Try oatmeal, corn, beans, lean meats, eggwhites, peas, dried fruit to help you gain muscle mass.
You will do fantastic if you lift weights about 3 hours a week.
Goodluck with the food, it's hard but once you start eating.. it's hard to stop. When working out make sure you eat more than your basic needs. I'm eating over 2500 kcals a day and I still need to increase to reach my needs.
love xxxxxx
